Sorrento is an excellent base for exploring the Amalfi coast and its pearls Positano, Amalfi and Ravello, reached in only 30 minutes drive with the Sita bus. 
You shall remain breathless at the beauty of Positano, just like a crib, with its steep narrow streets of its steps, and its many world famouse craft shops. 
Continue to Amalfi, the land of sailors, explore the majestic beauty of the Cathedral and "Paper Museum" ending with Ravello, a land of inspiration for artists and composers, with its famous Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone.

Only 20 minutes hydrofoil ride eill get you to Capri "Blue Island", the island of the jet set, of incomparable beauty, with its Faraglioni, the Gardens of Tiberius and the Blue Grotto.

By train it is easy to reach the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum where one can dive into the past and discover the lifestyle of 2000 years ago.
